I saw a blog post on Tyner Blain today about a new book coming out on 6/29/07 called Smart (Enough) Systems and I thought the topic deserved more attention on Catalyze too. This is a book written by James Taylor (VP of Product Management at Fair Isaac) with Neil Radon (consultant, author, analyst, information architect, etc.) and both of these men are passionate about decision automation.
"James and Neil show how current business trends are forcing organizations to build smarter systems and how these systems can help companies thrive. By focusing on decisions as distinct opportunities for improvement, the book provides unique perspective on how using established technologies in a new way can solve problems and create competitive advantage."

This book and related information "will be of value to those managing information systems and application development projects in defining the goals they should have in building better systems, and to business owners who are frustrated by their current systems but cannot articulate how or why to change things."
