BASIC FUNCTION: Provides User Interface design and DHTML development expertise and leadership, throughout the solution delivery process.  Acting in a UI Design lead role (as part of an I.S. project team), ensures that the UID consultant and project team collectively design and produce highly interactive communication-oriented software user interfaces and interactive software elements to improve and enhance the usability, functionality, viability and aesthetic appeal of new and existing software/web user interfaces.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in User Interface/Interaction Design, HCI, Digital Media Design, Human Factors, Computer Science or related fields (with relevant MIS courses or degree, additional courses or degree in fine arts, graphic design, industrial design or similar), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years User Interface Design Experience as a key member of a User-Centered Design Team. Comprehensive knowledge of and experience applying and communicating UID/User Centered Design principles, standards, practices, theory and methodologies. Demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge on multiple platforms and across business areas. Ability to approach problems from multiple vantage points, creating a variety of viable design solutions. Strong aesthetic sense with demonstrated acumen in the following areas: application of color theory, spatial relationships, and visual communication.  Track record of deliverables that demonstrate imagination, originality and expressiveness. Strong analytic and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail and passion for pixel perfect fit and finish. Ability to handle a fast pace and prioritize effectively in a fast paced environment which includes multiple, concurrent assignments.  Responsive to changing business needs and requirements. Ability to work independently and direct others using sound time management and delegation skills. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with professionals at all levels in a corporate environment. Excellent visual oral, written communication and presentation skills as evidenced by sketches, storyboards, wire frames, screen mock-ups, flow diagrams, etc. Strong consulting skills in the areas of negotiation, leadership, project management and organization. Advanced knowledge and application of HTML, JavaScript, Web 2.0 standards/technologies, and CSS. Advanced experience with Adobe Photoshop. Desired: Experience with AJAX, XML, DHTML, XHTML, XSLT, Macromedia Dream weaver, IRISE, Visio, and Flash
