JOB DESCRIPTION:

We have an exciting position with our client, a Fortune 500 financial services company, for a User Interface Design consultant. You would be working through Aquent during the duration of this project, which may be very long term.

Here is what you will do:
As a UI design consultant, you will interact directly with clients, solution architects, business domain architects, application analysts, application engineers, developers and end users to ensure the software user interfaces created are usable, viable to be built in the technical environment and meet business goals and requirements.

Works with UID Specialists and others to design and produce effective UI screen layouts and structure to meet business needs and requirements, immediate project goals and are consistent with enterprise direction.

Works with UID Specialists and others to design and produce effective and appropriate interactive screen elements to meet business needs and requirements.

Ensures that software UI prototypes are well formed and viable to meet business needs and requirements.

Systematically analyses user interface design problems, creates original UI solutions, answers questions about UI design and UI usability, and responds to feedback appropriately.

Contributes to enterprise-wide UI design and development best practices and standards.

Actively participates in usability evaluations.

Here is what you need to have:
Bachelors degree in User Interface Design, Interaction Design, HCI, Digital Media Design, Communication Design, Computer Science or related fields (with relevant MIS courses or degree, additional courses, degree in fine arts, graphic design, industrial design or similar), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5 years User Interface Design Experience, as a key member of User-Centered Design Team.

Comprehensive knowledge of and experience applying and communicating UID/User Centered Design principles, standards, practices, theory and methodologies.

Ability to apply usability knowledge, across business areas, using multiple platforms.

Ability to approach problems from multiple vantage points, creating a variety of viable design solutions.

Strong aesthetic sense. Excels at the application of color theory, spatial relationships, and visual communication. Shows imagination, originality and expressiveness.

Strong Analytic and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail and passion for pixel perfect fit and finish

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels within I.S., the work group and business clients.

Excellent visual (sketches, storyboards, wire frames, screen mockups, flow diagrams, etc.) oral, written communication and presentation skills.

Advanced knowledge and application of HTML, JavaScript, Web 2.0 standards/technologies, AJAX, XML, DHTML, XHTML, XSLT, Macromedia Dream Weaver, iRise, Visio, Flash and CSS.

Advanced experience with Adobe Photoshop
