A database of state laws impacting health care reform!
CPR is partnering with the UCSF/UC Hastings Consortium on Law, Science, and Health Policy, to establish a database of state laws and regulations governing price transparency, provider market power, provider payment, provider networks and health insurance benefit design.
Why create a state database?
- Purchasers, states, and policymakers that are interested in reforming health care in their state may face legal and regulatory barriers. The database will put them in the position to understand their legal and regulatory environment as they make efforts to improve access, quality, efficiency and reduce costs in health care.
- Researchers and other stakeholders are interested in learning more about state legal and regulatory environments. The database will serve as a publicly-available, interactive tool to support research, including the functionality to search which states have specific laws or regulations in place.
Launching in 2019, the database will be hosted on The Source on Healthcare Price & Competition. Stay tuned!
